Dr. Hunter Snyder graduated from the University of Alabama in 2006 with a degree in Biology. He then pursued his doctor of optometry degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham, completing that program in 2010. Dr. Snyder has a wife and two children, and they now live in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. He has been working at Jody’s Optical since 2016. In his spare time, Dr. Snyder enjoys playing video games and has recently begun learning to play golf. He is also a trumpet player in the Shoals Community Band.
Dr. David McGee is a lifelong resident of Florence. He is a graduate of Coffee High School (1965), University of Alabama Tuscaloosa (1969) with a major in Chemistry and minor in Biology, and University of Alabama Birmingham (1977) School of Optometry. He married Sheila Frost of Sylvania, Alabama, in 1978/ She is a retired English teacher from the Florence City Schools. They have two sons and four grandchildren. Dr. McGee is a former pilot and motorcyclist. He now enjoys traveling with his wife in their RV. He founded Shoals Eye Clinic in Florence and practiced there 30 years. Dr. McGee has been practicing with Dr. Synder at Jody’s Optical for four years.
Tim Russ is an optician with 32 years of experience. He started his career with the late Alvin Mclendon in 1989. Tim opened his own business, Russ Optical, in 1997. He currently works at Jody’s Optical and continues to provide excellent craftsmanship and experience for all of his patients.
Tim has a hobby of growing Bonsai Trees. Some of these can be seen throughout our showroom floor.
